Another macro. This one demonstrates the extreme shallow DoF that you usually get with macro photography. I forgot to menntion yesterday, but both that shot and this one are only minor crops from full frame.

I went out to the woods with a 50mm prime lens and my extension tubes. This white bloom is probably no bigger around than the end of a pencil eraser.

This stone shed or barn is in a wooded area of Umstead Park. I'm confident the ramp is used to drive tractors, utility vehicles, etc. in and out.
When I processed the infrared raw file, there was some blue showing up in the doors and leaves on the ground.
Before I desaturated, I was fooling around with the hue slider, and liked this result where the blue was turned into green.

My wife, Linda, hams it up at a phone booth on the main street of Hillsville. Public phones are becoming a rare sight, and it doesn't hurt (in her opinion) that it coordinates with her outfit.

The Hillsville Diner (posted Sunday) had a large Dr. Pepper pole sign and several round Coca Cola signs. This sign and air conditioning unit were to the left of the posted photo, but resemble the ones behind the pole in the earlier shot.

This old home is near Fancy Gap Virginia, almost at the North Carolina/Virginia border. It is open for tours at certain times, but it was closed when we drove by. A quick web search indicates it was built in 1911 in the Queen Anne style.
