Quite a shed/barn to notice and shoot. I can see why it appealed. Gotta love that sign and what is represents as part of our past. Nice shot.

Nice capture, Harry. Interesting ads on the side of the building. An old-time barn there!

Interesting find Harry. I've not seen any buildings like this in the UK.

Unfortunately (for the photographer) this barn was on a working farm, so I had to shoot from the side of the road, perhaps 100 yards (100 m).

Advertising on the sides and roofs of barns used to be common in the US. It probably peaked in the 1950s as the US prospered domestically after WWII, and car travel for the ordinary family increased. The high speed limited access highway system built in the US starting in the late 1950s, made rustic sights like this increasingly less common. And of course, the anti-tobacco attitudes of the 1980s on made advertising for products like this less acceptable.
